01
The agreement
Using WOOL means agreeing to these terms with Studio Eastgate, LLC.
WOOL is a service of Studio Eastgate, LLC, a Washington limited liability company. These terms are a contract between you and us. They cover the developer console at trywool.com, the API at api.trywool.com, the connect page at connect.trywool.com, and everything else we provide under the WOOL name.
When we say "you", we mean the person or business that creates a developer account and builds a product on WOOL. When we say "your users", we mean the people who authorize your product to use their accounts on other websites through WOOL. If you accept these terms for a business, you confirm you can bind it.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use WOOL.
02
Your account
You must be an adult, keep your access safe, and answer for what happens under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Give us accurate account information and keep it current.
Your developer session, your applications, and any client secret are yours to protect. Everything done through your account and your applications is your responsibility, whether or not you authorized it, until you tell us your access has been compromised and we have had a reasonable chance to act.
We may ask you to verify your identity or your business before we allow certain uses, and we may limit new accounts while the service is in early access.
03
What WOOL does
WOOL runs an agent from your prompt on a website your user authorized, as that user, and returns what it did and found.
Your user connects a website once, by signing in to that website on our connect page and approving your product. From then on, your product sends prompts, and WOOL runs an agent on that website as the user’s account and returns a result in the shape you asked for, or a plain reason if it could not finish.
WOOL works on websites that have no API built for this. That means websites change, sign-in flows change, and any run can fail. We report what happened on every run, and we do not promise that any particular website, task, or prompt will work, or keep working.
A run acts only as the connected account, on the connected website. It will not sign in for a user, create accounts, answer CAPTCHAs or other human checks, or reach other sites or accounts.
04
Your users and their authorization
You may only act on accounts your users have knowingly authorized, for purposes they would expect from your product.
Every connection must be made by the account’s own owner, on our connect page, with a clear understanding of what your product will do with it. You may not use WOOL on an account that is not your user’s own, or without that person’s knowledge.
Prompts you run on a connection must stay within what the user reasonably expects from your product. If your product sends emails, moves money, changes settings, or deletes anything on the user’s behalf, tell the user that before they connect.
Your users can revoke a connection at any time, from your product or from WOOL. Honor that. Give your users a way to disconnect, respond to their questions about what your product did on their account, and publish your own privacy notice that explains what you do with the results.
Results are your users’ data. Treat what a run returns with the same care you would give anything else your users trust you with.
05
Acceptable use
Use WOOL lawfully, respectfully, and only in ways that would not surprise the people and websites involved.
You are responsible for making sure your product, your prompts, and your use of any website through WOOL comply with the law, with the rights of your users, and with the rights of the website and the people on it. Do not use WOOL to:
- Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
- Access an account that is not your user’s own, or one your user has not authorized through WOOL.
- Defraud, harass, impersonate, or deceive anyone, or send spam or bulk unsolicited messages.
- Collect personal information about people who are not your user beyond what your user could see and would expect your product to use.
- Probe, overload, or interfere with WOOL or with any website, or try to get around a website’s security or human verification steps.
- Extract, reveal, or move a saved sign-in, a credential, or a session outside WOOL.
- Reverse engineer the service, or resell or share access to it, unless we agree in writing.
- Build products aimed at children, or connect accounts that belong to children.
If a website asks us to stop serving a use that harms it or its users, we may do so.
06
Credits and billing
You prepay for credits at one cent each. Runs and connections use them. Credits never expire and are not refundable.
WOOL bills in credits. One credit is one cent in United States dollars. You buy credits by card on the console’s Billing page, from $10 to $1,000 per purchase, and every new developer account starts with a free grant of credits to try the service. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
Every run that starts uses credits according to the rate card on our pricing page, whatever its outcome, except that a run that fails on our side is not charged. Each completed connection uses credits too. The pricing page and the billing documentation describe the rate card, and the console shows you what every run cost.
If you turn on auto-reload, you authorize us to charge your saved card whenever your balance falls below the threshold you set, for the amount needed to bring it back to the target you set, and to keep doing so until you turn auto-reload off. If a charge fails, auto-reload stops and we email you.
Runs already in progress always finish, even if they take your balance below zero. New runs are refused while the balance is below one credit. Your users can always connect.
Credits do not expire. Purchased credits and free credits are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If something went wrong with a purchase, contact us and we will put it right. We may change the rate card by posting the new one on the pricing page; changes apply to runs started after the change.
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchases, other than taxes on our income.
07
Prompts, results, and ownership
Your prompts and results stay yours. We use them only to run the service, and we own WOOL itself.
You own your applications, your prompts, and the results WOOL returns to you, subject to your users’ rights in their own data. You give us permission to store and process them to provide the service, to keep it secure, and to support you.
Results can contain content from the websites your users connect. That content belongs to whoever owned it there. WOOL does not give you any rights in it beyond what your user has.
WOOL, including its software, its connect page, its documentation, and its name and mark, belongs to us. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them without owing you anything.
08
Early access and changes
WOOL is new. We will change it, and sometimes turn things off, and we will tell you when it matters.
WOOL is in early access. We add, change, and remove features as we learn. We do not promise uptime, and we do not offer a service level agreement yet.
When a change would break something you have built, or remove something you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can, by email or in the console, so you have time to adapt.
09
Suspension and ending the agreement
You can leave any time. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put users or websites at risk.
You can stop using WOOL and ask us to close your account at any time by contacting support.
We may suspend or close your account, or refuse particular runs, if you break these terms, if your use puts your users, a website, or WOOL at risk, if a payment is disputed or reversed, or if the law requires it. We will tell you why unless we are not allowed to.
When an account closes, its connections are revoked, its saved sign-ins are deleted, and its data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Unused credits are not refunded when an account is closed for breaking these terms, except where the law requires otherwise.
10
Disclaimers
WOOL runs autonomous agents on websites we do not control. It is provided as is, and results can be wrong.
WOOL is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
An agent reads and acts on a live website on its own. It can misread a page, take an action you did not intend, or fail partway through. We do not warrant that results are accurate or complete, or that a run will do exactly what a prompt asked. Design your product for failure, check results before you rely on them for anything important, and keep a human in the loop for decisions that matter.
We do not control the websites your users connect. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, their terms, or what they do with an account.
11
Limits on our liability
Our liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the last twelve months, and excludes indirect losses.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Studio Eastgate, LLC and its members, managers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to WOOL or these terms, however caused.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims arising from or related to WOOL or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred United States dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
12
Your responsibility for your product
If your product, prompts, or users cause a claim against us, you cover it.
You will defend us and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your product, your prompts, your use of any website through WOOL, your users’ use of your product, or your breach of these terms. We will tell you about a claim promptly and cooperate with you at your expense, and we may take part in the defense with our own counsel.
13
Governing law and disputes
Washington law applies, and disputes go to the courts in Washington, after we have tried to sort things out directly.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from or related to WOOL or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
Before starting a claim, contact us at support@trywool.com and give us thirty days to try to resolve it with you. Most problems are fixed faster that way.
14
Changes to these terms, and the rest
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and tell you when a change matters.
We may change these terms from time to time. The current version is always at trywool.com/terms with its effective date. If a change is material, we will email the address on your account or tell you in the console before it takes effect. Using WOOL after a change takes effect means you accept it.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the pricing page, are the whole agreement between you and us about WOOL. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
